This mission introduces students to the mechanics of thrust, forces, matter and energy. Students discuss the states of matter, mass, weight and gravity. Newton's laws are introduced by NASA astronauts doing actual experiments

These video presentations along with Commander Boehmer's live demonstrations provide the students with a good introduction to physics and the mechanics behind a shuttle launch and landing.

This academic mission allows students to explore other components of the space shuttle using a computer program. The students end their mission with a mock launch and landing.
