Solar System Rescue

Our fifth grade students complete their study of the Solar System with a multi-media challenge. The students travel via the shuttle BLAKE to the Starfinder One space station where they are challenged to find a disabled probe that has been lost somewhere in the solar system. In teams of four, our expert astonomers, geologists, meteorologists and historians view a video transmission that describes their current mission. They use the information found in their expert books to analyze information from the transmission. Using all available data, the teams decide on which planet the probe is lost. Once the probe has been located, the teams conduct further tests to provide more specific information. Pooling their information, the teams decide which plan will successfully rescue the disabled probe.

This mission emphasizes good communication and teamwork skills, experiencing all sorts of unforseen circumstances.
