Remember to...
...Practice, practice practice!

Student's Responsibilty:

  • Regular home practice routine.  Weekly goal: 120 minutes.

  • Maintain a weekly practice chart by recording minutes practiced.

  • Come prepared for weekly 30-minute, in-school lesson (instrument, book and signed practice chart).

  • Make up class work missed during weekly half hour lesson.

Parent's Role:

  • Obtain instrument in good playing condition prior to first lesson.

    • Bring all pre-owned or privately purchased instruments to school prior to the first lesson for teacher approval.

  • Encourage and promote regular home practice.

  • Check and initial student’s practice chart once-per-week.

  • Encourage child to organize music lesson materials the evening prior to their lesson.

  • Be involved.  On occasion inquire about your child’s lesson and listen to their progress as they grow as players.

  • Attend school, community and other performances to encourage your child's musical interest.
