Ms. Nolfe
IST is a positive, success-oriented program that uses specific assessment and intervention techniques to help remove educational, behavioral or affective stumbling blocks for all students in the regular classroom.
The I.S.T.
Process:
 |
A student's
need for support is identified and brought to the
team. |
 |
The
team determines a goal for the student and strategies to assist him/her in achieving
the goal. |
 |
The
strategies are implemented through a continuum of services. |
How I.S.T.
Works:
 |
The
classroom
teacher, parent, or other staff member requests assistance for the
student. |
 |
The
team
meets to review information and collect data. |
 |
The
team members administer assessments to further determine individual needs of the student. |
 |
The
team
reconvenes to outline goals and develops an action plan to help the
student be successful. |
 |
The
team members monitor interventions for at least 30 school days. |
 |
The
team
reconvenes to evaluate the success of the action plan and to determine
if further
action, is necessary. |
