The print collection includes:

 

 

  • Picture Books- arranged by the first letter of the author's last name.

  • Fiction Books- arranged by the first three letters of the author's last name.

  • Biography- arranged by the first three letters of the biography subject's last name.

  • Reference- arranged by the Dewey Decimal System.

  • Nonfiction Books- arranged by the Dewey Decimal System.

  • Easy Nonfiction- arranged by the Dewey Decimal System.

  • Magazines and Newspapers

  • Study Prints

  • Kits

 

 

The non print resources include:

 

 

  • Videos- for classroom use.

  • Computer Software- for classroom and library use.

 

The online resources can be accessed from any computer within the school.  One resource the students use is World Book Online.

 

  • Access Power Library Project- a project sponsored by the Commonwealth Libraries.  It can be accessed by students within the school or at home.  In order to access the following databases at home, a student must belong to the Parkland Community Library or another community library.

  • EBSCO - a comprehensive periodical and reference database.

  • Searchasaurus- a full text database that includes an encyclopedia of animals, a general encyclopedia, and a magazine database.  This tool is crested for students in elementary and middle schools.

  • Sirs Discoverer Deluxe- a reference tool with full text articles and graphics, country facts, and a World Almanac for Kids.

  • AP Multimedia Archive- an archive of both current and historical photographs.
