The answers to frequently asked questions regarding Parkland High School’s Drivers Education program are located in the links below. However, if you can not find your question, please feel free to call the drivers education office at 610-351-5900, extension # 74410. Miss Bortz, our department chairperson will contact you. Inclement Weather & Emergency Information/Notices
If drivers training and license testing sessions are cancelled due to inclement weather a notice will be posted below.

If inclement weather cancels PHS Drivers Training and License Testing Sessions,
only those students scheduled for License Testing will be contacted to reschedule.

2010 Summer Changes to the Behind the Wheel Program!!

                 The summer behind-the-wheel driving signup clipboard is
now available in the Guidance office.
  
             

We are currently scheduling students from pages 1 to 30 on the summer signup list.
If you are not on these pages we will get to you as soon as possible. If you would be on page 1 to 25 and we have not contacted you
please call Miss Bortz at the numbers listed on this page and make sure we have the proper contact information. If you forgot your page
number please set up an appointment to come in and review the summer list or
be patient and know we will contact you when we get to your page.


  Please click on the link for Saturday/Holiday Diving below for
instructions on how students may sign this list when it opens.

As always, in-school and after-school lists are available in the guidance
office daily for all students to signup for the Behind-the-Wheel program.

Summer Theory Sessions for Drivers Education

These sessions will run for 2 weeks. Students may register in the guidance office
by filling out their information on the appropriate clipboard.

  • The first session is June 28th to July 14th from 8 am to 11 am. (No classes will be held on July 1, 2, & 5).
  • The second session is July 19th to July 30th from 9 am to 12am.

This site is an excellent student driver-parents of student drivers resource with information, suggestions and driving lesson plans for parents or students
.

Links will take you off the PSD site and to the ALERT Partnership which is a program in the Community Health Division of the Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
This is an outstanding site that provides new drivers and parents with actual materials to help with the decisions and the process of learning to drive.

All materials are available in hard copy form in the Parkland High
School Drivers Education classroom.
