The Career interest/research unit is designed to educate students on the world of work, while they begin to explore their own strengths and interests.

S. M. S. Library Program

The Springhouse Middle School Library houses a complete print and non-print research facility and individualized reading program. Geared to address the needs of all of our students, the library includes 40 computers with Internet access, word processing, on-line searching, and a periodical data base. Print periodical holdings, classroom instruction in research skills, and a reading incentive program based on the Accelerated Reader are also highlighted in the library program. Improving reading and research skills and making students life-long readers is the overriding goal of the program.

Learning Support
The purpose of this program is to provide accommodations and/or modifications to students, based on their individual needs, in order to promote success in the general curriculum. The primary intention of the program is to teach the students the skills necessary to enable them to access their natural support systems independently. The ultimate goal is to prepare the students for the transition from middle school to high school.

  • Diagnostic Screening /Individualized&    Specialized Instruction (grades 6th-8th)

  • Teaching "Reading Seminar" to seventh graders

  • Manage 8th Grade book room

  • Teaching the “study skills” program to all seventh graders
